IT Director Business Support Systems

For an international organisation with a clear social purpose and multiple operating companies, this position brings together business systems, process improvement and organisational leadership.

You will lead the team responsible for the systems that support finance, operations and commercial activities. Your responsibility covers both reliable daily operations and the development of these systems, with Salesforce and NetSuite at the core.

The agenda is clear: establish shared processes, reduce unnecessary customisation and focus investment on initiatives that create measurable business value. You will work closely with senior business leaders, technology colleagues and the PMO to turn that agenda into practical improvements.

What you'll do

• Define and lead the Business Support Systems strategy and roadmap , connecting business priorities to technology investments and team capabilities.
• Develop an organisation with clear ownership, strong leadership and the expertise to operate and improve core business systems.
• Lead business solution managers, service managers, enterprise architects and business analysts, creating space for development, constructive challenge and collaboration.
• Drive process standardisation across operating companies , using shared business processes to guide system design and configuration.
• Prioritise commercial capabilities, onboarding and licensing, making clear decisions about where to invest limited capacity.
• Reduce manual work, fragmented tooling and unnecessary complexity by making better use of standard platform capabilities.
• Take responsibility for service quality, support and change delivery, balancing operational continuity with longer term improvement.
• Partner with the PMO to coordinate system changes and business implementation, ensuring processes are agreed before systems are configured.
• Make AI part of how the team configures, integrates and operates business systems.

What you bring

• Deep expertise in ERP or CRM , combined with the knowledge to lead senior professionals across both domains.
• Experience leading business applications teams with responsibility for both system development and ongoing operations.
• A track record of building capable teams, developing leaders and establishing effective, agile ways of working.
• The ability to translate business strategy into a clear process and technology agenda.
• Experience aligning senior stakeholders across multiple companies or countries, including situations with competing priorities.
• The judgement to challenge requests, assess value and ROI, and make decisions about what to deliver, defer or stop.
• Enough business and technical depth to question assumptions and guide decisions while maintaining strategic direction.
• A leadership style built on openness, accountability, coaching and shared ownership.
• Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite is a clear advantage.
