Legal Counsel

For Henkel a major multinational company that operates in two areas: industrial adhesives and technologies, and everyday consumer products, I'm looking for a new Legal Counsel to strengthen the team.

Note: I'm looking for a Legal Counsel who is willing to travel to their main office in Brussels (Belgium)

Description

As Legal Counsel, joining a team of senior and junior professionals, you'll be at the heart of the legal operations across Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France. Your expertise will guide the business through both day-to-day legal matters and high-level strategic initiatives - including the adoption of new digital technologies such as A.I.

What you´ll do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements in a B2B and B2C environment, across Benelux and France;
• Manage corporate housekeeping matters in Benelux, consulting with external legal advisors;
• Provide legal support on real estate issues, including lease, purchase and facility agreements;
• Contribute to dispute resolution and assist with risk mitigation strategies;
• Embrace legal innovation efforts, including AI-driven legal tools and digital legal platforms;
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments like HR, Finance, IT, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Corporate Communications, … and work together with external counsels if necessary;
• Be a strategic partner to the business, offering initiative-taking and practical legal guidance.

What makes you a good fit

• Experience : Minimum 5 years in corporate law and commercial contracts - ideally in a cross-border or international context;
• Languages : Fluent in English , with strong proficiency in French and Dutch ;
• Skills : Deep understanding of corporate governance and contract law, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into actionable and pragmatic business advice;
• Mindset : Tech-savvy, curious, innovative and solution-oriented. You're not just a lawyer, you are also a partner to the business and you are able to align legal advice with operational goals. You are stress resilient and not afraid of taking the extra mile;
• Background : Prior experience in an in-house legal international environment is highly valued, ideally complemented by experience gained in a law firm, including an international practice.
