R&D Scientist – Formulations & Powders

As R&D Scientist you are part of GNT’s R&D team. You work in interdisciplinary teams in a state-of-the-art environment on the development of new EXBERRY® Coloring Food products. You contribute to innovation projects and support the development, optimization and understanding of liquid formulations, emulsions and dispersed systems. You work closely together with internal interfaces such as production, engineering, quality management and product management, gaining broad exposure to the entire product development process.

What do we expect from you:

• Support innovation Front- and Back-End activities as developer in agile development teams:
• Contribute to the development of formulations for liquid and powder systems
• Work closely with colleagues from Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to successfully scale innovations into commercial production.
• You provide technical documentation, communication of results and contribute to IP creation
• As Product Expert, you are responsible for a portfolio of carotenoid-containing EXBERRY® Coloring Food products throughout their lifecycle, from raw materials to finished concentrates, ensuring long-term product performance and consistency:
• Independently plan, execute, evaluate and report lab and pilot plant experiments to generate scientific and technical insights and translate them into value-adding solutions
• You are responsible for maintaining and developing quality-relevant product master data, including product features, acceptance limits and analytical methods.
• Provide technical support to Production, Quality Management and Product Management by investigating technical challenges, conducting root cause analyses and implementing sustainable solutions.

What experience and skills do you bring?

• Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Technology or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience or affinity with formulations, emulsions, dispersions and carotenoid-based systems is desirable.
• Proven ability to independently plan, conduct and evaluate experimental work.
• Strong scientific mindset combined with a pragmatic and structured approach to problem solving.
• Collaborative team player who enjoys working in interdisciplinary teams and believes that the best solutions are created together.
• Self-starting, result-driven and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent in English, German and Dutch is a plus.
