Description
Service Manager – Automation & Technical Services
About the Opportunity
Our client is an established international technology business delivering complex technical systems and integrated solutions to business customers.
They are looking for a Service Manager to strengthen customer partnerships, drive service performance, and support the continued development of their service organisation.
This is a commercially focused position that combines customer relationship management, service contract performance, and cross-functional leadership. The successful candidate will work with major business customers and internal teams to ensure service commitments are met, performance remains on track and long-term customer relationships continue to develop.
The Role
You will act as a key link between customers, service operations and the wider business. Your focus will be on service performance, commercial outcomes and stakeholder alignment rather than solely on day-to-day technical supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major corporate customers and senior decision-makers.
- Oversee service contract performance, ensuring agreed service levels, customer expectations and commercial objectives are met.
- Lead customer performance reviews and present service results, KPIs and improvement plans to senior stakeholders.
- Manage escalations and coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve complex service challenges.
- Work closely with operational leaders and technical teams to improve service quality, reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Influence, guide and coach stakeholders across the organisation, including teams outside your direct reporting structure.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing service agreements, expand service offerings and strengthen customer partnerships.
- Monitor service performance, budgets, costs and commercial results.
- Drive continuous improvement and support the development of effective service processes.
- Maintain alignment between customer expectations, operational delivery and business priorities.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in Service Management, Aftermarket, Service Operations or a related customer-facing technical leadership role.
- Proven experience managing complex service agreements and relationships with large corporate customers.
- Experience supporting major technical systems or capital investment projects from a service, maintenance or aftermarket perspective.
- Strong commercial understanding, including service contract performance, financial targets, costs and margins.
- Confidence presenting performance data, KPIs and improvement plans to senior-level stakeholders.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence and coach teams through collaboration rather than relying exclusively on direct line management.
- Experience in a complex technical environment, such as automation, material handling, industrial technology, logistics systems or a related sector.
- A bachelor's or master's degree is preferred.
- Professional fluency in Dutch and English.
The Opportunity
- A position combining strategic customer engagement and commercial service responsibility.
- Exposure to complex technical systems and major corporate customer environments.
- The opportunity to influence service performance and contribute to organisational development.
- A hybrid working arrangement combining home working, office attendance and customer visits.
- A competitive compensation package and additional employment benefits.
